Galloo invests 1.5 million in ultrafiltration system
The kondirator at Galloo France (Halluin) was converted to a zerdirator in the summer of 2020. "A choice dictated by a changed market situation and ever-increasing maintenance costs," explain CEO Rik Debaere and project manager Kevin Casier. "The concept of the new machine is a combination of the best that can be found on the market, and in terms of emissions we are doing en pack better than what the environmental standards require us to do."

Galloo invests in its own barge
Galloo has invested in its own push barge, a type of cargo vessel pushed by a boat. The vessel will be used to transport both raw and finished materials, mainly between the Menen and Ghent branches. "We intend to use it to transport some 100,000 tonnes on an annual basis, the equivalent of 4,000 trucks," reports managing director Pierre Vandeputte. "The push barge was christened as 'Galloo I' and should become the first of our own fleet."
