In January, Galloo acquired two companies: Nicolay Fils, based in Les Attaques in Pas-de-Calais, became Galloo Calais, and Demofer, based in Petit-Couronne not far from Rouen, became Galloo Rouen. The site in Calais has an area of 22,792 m2 and the one in Rouen 8,000 m2. Both sites were also previously family businesses, one of the reasons why they chose Galloo to continue their operations.
The Belgian group will continue all recycling activities at the two sites, which process a total of 23,000 tonnes of material annually. The strategic location of Nicolay Fils and Demofer attracted Galloo's interest, as both companies are located in regions with a lot of industrial activity. Galloo Rouen is also close to the river Seine, which opens up prospects for transporting materials by water, thus potentially reducing road transport. Thanks to these acquisitions, Galloo welcomes 12 new "Gallooists" and now employs 780 people in Hauts-de-France, Belgium and the Netherlands.
