‘We are extremely proud that we will be able to process the “large white goods”, “small household appliances” and “TV monitors” streams again for the next three years. The extension of the partnership is a great recognition of our expertise in the dismantling and recycling of WEEE,’ says Luc Waignein, R&D Director at Galloo.
Urban Mining
The recycling of discarded electrical equipment is becoming increasingly important. After all, it contains valuable raw materials and precious metals that can be recovered from scrap thanks to high-tech sorting facilities. Galloo has the knowledge and machinery to process plastics, iron and non-ferrous metals such as aluminium and copper into pure renewable raw materials.
Employment
The sorting and depollution of these streams requires a great deal of manual processing. Galloo works together with the social enterprise Forena for this purpose. But this relaunch also provides work for around thirty new employees at Galloo.
