Galloo Gent

As an international player in the scrap trade, Galloo exports about 700,000 tonnes of scrap each year both within and outside Europe.

Galloo Ghent, strategically located between the Noorddok and the Sifferdok in the port of Ghent, is an important link in Galloo’s logistics. The site covers an area of 8 hectares and has a 640-metre long quay. Scrap brought in by inland navigation can be loaded onto seagoing vessels in record time thanks to 2 hydraulic e‑cranes.

Galloo Ghent is also equipped with a special dock for dismantling end-of-life ships with respect for people and the environment. Navy ships, container ships or inland barges are dismantled and recycled there according to a calibrated schedule.
