How is your end of life car being recycled?
An end-of-life vehicle can be dangerous if not handled correctly. Vehicle recycling is a process that follows a well-defined set of specifications and is subject to strict regulations. This recycling process involves several stages: collection, depollution, shredding and post-treatment of materials.
Many Galloo sites are able to receive your scrap vehicles and are authorised to process them according to the relevant legislation.
- 1
Collection
This stage involves collecting end-of-life vehicles and transporting them to destruction centres. - 2
Depollution
Cars are depolluted of hazardous and harmful substances: liquids, batteries, used oil, tyres. - 3
Dismantling
Parts that are still in good condition and can be reused, will be dismantled to be reintroduced into the circular economy. - 4
Shredding
The depolluted end-of-life cars are then sent to shredders in order to recycle the different materials they contain: plastics, metals, non-ferrous metals, etc. - 5
Recycling
The resulting materials are then sorted and refined using innovative technologies so that they can be reintroduced onto the market as circular raw materials.
Reuse of car parts
At Galloo, private individuals can purchase reconditioned car parts with a warranty. These parts are carefully selected, dismantled, tested and cleaned by our colleagues at Galloo Ghislenghien. By focusing on the reuse of car parts, Galloo contributes to the shortest chain in the circular economy.
